Bill Muter (born June 8, 1984) is an American bass and tuba player from South Florida. Muter is arguably best known for his eclectic bass and tuba playing with avant-garde singer/songwriter Mike Mineo. Their works together have been featured on CBS Daybreak and E! Televisions show Kholé and Lamar in season 1, episode 7 "Jaime 9-1-1." Mineo's latest Album, "Beach Season," was well received on the college radio scene and the group was listed on the Austin Texas radio station, 93.3 KGSR, as an up and coming artist in 2011. Mineo and Muter also performed in the "Odd Ball Freak Tour," a theatrical accordion and tuba duo that toured throughout the southeastern United States.
In 2009, Muter joined the Haitian Compas music group, Gabel. Muter was as a trombonist for Gabel and played in various countries including Haiti, France, Dominican Republic the Netherlands Antilles and Canada.
Muter currently performs as a tubist and percussionist for the Tony and Emmy Award Winning show Blast! Muter has been with the show since 2007 and has participated in the 2007 Japan Tour as well as the 2007-2008 National Tour, "Blast Fever" at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and the 2011-2012 National Tour. While with Blast! in 2007, Muter also performed with J-pop sensations TRF and Pistol Valve at the 21st annual Music Fair, broadcasted on Fuji Television Network throughout Japan.
Along with Muter's performance endeavors, he is also involved in the music education scene. Muter is the author of a brass pedagogy book titled “A Practical Approach.” The book was released in May of 2012 and has been featured in the Brass Musicians Magazine and the New Times. Muter is an Artist in Residence at the Milagro Center and has worked with numerous music and art programs across the United States.
