Eduardo Nogueroles was born in Valencia, Spain. His studies include upper-level degrees in tuba performance, composition, and conducting from the conservatories of Jávea, Valencia, Madrid, Perpignan (France), Arizona State University, and the Royal School of Music (UK) where he studied with Miguel Moreno, Mel Culbertson, Sam Pilafian, Harvey Phillips, Pablo Sanchez Torella, Tomás Gilabert, Andrés Zarzo, Ferrer Ferrán, and several other prominent tubists, composers, and conductors.
As a player, Eduardo was part of the Student Orchestra of the Community of Madrid and the National Youth Orchestra of Spain, and he regularly collaborates with a number of Spanish orchestras. He was received awards in the International Tuba Solo Competition in Albany, New York and at the Brass Competition of Xátiva, Valencia. He performs and teaches through Spain, and in 2000 he recorded the CD Escenas Latinas. From 1997-2003 he was Director of the International Tuba Festival in Vigo, and in 2003 he became a Conn Selmer artist.
As a conductor, he has conducted the bands “Lira de San Miguel de Oia,” “La Lira de Vilafamés,” and “Unió Musical d’Aldaia,” with whom he won several prizes in contests and competitions. As a composer, Eduardo has been commissioned by ensembles including The Sir Aligator’s Company, the Lira de San Miguel de Oia, the Unió Artistica Musical d’Almàssera, and the Banda Municipal de Vitoria, and solists including Juanjo Munera, Lluis Andrés, and Vicent Alberola.He was a finalist in the I Concurso Iberoamericano de Composición para Bandas de Música, Ortigueira. His music has been recorded on several CDs and performed worldwide.
Along with composing and teaching tuba and euphonium at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Valencia, Eduardo plays tuba with the Grup Instrumental de Valencia, conducts the Symphonic Band of the Unión Musical Santa Cecilia of Villar del Arzobispo and is President of the Spanish Association of Tubas and Euphoniums.
